Media

The Media tab is where all the images, videos, and audio you’ve added to a project live. From here you can rename assets, see what’s in use, trim video and audio cues, and reconnect any files that have gone missing.

Adding media

Click Add new image, or video and choose your files, or drag and drop them straight onto the Media tab. Supported file types are PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG, WebP, MP4, WebM, MP3 and WAV.

To add a PNG sequence, use Add new image sequence instead and select the PNG files that make up the sequence.

Each asset in the list shows its name, with Relink and Remove buttons alongside it. Copy variable value puts a reference to the asset on your clipboard, ready to paste into a graphic.

Trimming video and audio

Video and audio cues can be trimmed inside H2R Graphics, so you don’t need to re-cut a clip in an editor just to drop a second of black off the front or a long tail off the end.

Open a video or audio cue and find the In / Out points section. Set an In and an Out time and only the section between the two plays on air.

Underneath the two fields, H2R Graphics shows how long the trimmed cue now plays for, alongside the full duration of the original file, so you can see the result of your trim at a glance.

Click Clear to remove the trim and play the whole file again.

The trim range is respected everywhere the cue plays:

• Looping loops the trimmed range, rather than the whole file.
• Offair parking parks the cue at your in point, so it’s ready to play again from exactly the right frame.

Tip: Trimming is non-destructive. The original file on your computer is untouched, so you can adjust the in and out points at any time.

Relinking missing media

If a file has been moved, renamed, or deleted on your computer since it was added, H2R Graphics can no longer find it. When you open the Media tab, any of these files are flagged with a yellow File missing warning in place of the thumbnail.

To reconnect it:

1. Click the Relink button next to the flagged file.
2. Choose the replacement file from your computer.

The file is reconnected and any graphics using it refresh automatically, in both the preview and your outputs. You don’t need to restart the app or re-add the graphic.

Tip: Relinking is the quickest way to recover a project after moving it to a new computer, or after reorganising the folders your media lives in.

Notes

• Relinking works for images, videos, and audio.
• Individual frames that are part of an image sequence can’t be relinked on their own.
